My HTML email looks different in Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.

Sending HTML email can be tricky, as most email programs only have limited support for displaying complex HTML code. Due to differences between operating systems, web browsers, and email programs, your HTML email may not appear the same to each of your recipients. When designing HTML email, it is best to stay simple.

Here are some things to try:

Avoid using CSS, JavaScript, Flash, and embedded objects in your HTML. Most email clients do not handle these appropriately.

Avoid messages with one (or more) large images and little text content. Most junk filters identify these kinds of messages as spam.

Do include a plain text version of your message (choose Message > Content Type > HTML and Plain Text).
