Getting Further Assistance
If you're wishing FlexTime did something it doesn't appear to, be sure to look here before giving up. It just might be possible!
If you don't see the answer to your questions, be sure to ask in the FlexTime Forums.
Q:
Can I take FlexTime routines with me when I'm not on my Mac?
A:
Thanks to FlexTime's powerful Music integration, you can export the audio from a FlexTime routine and take it with you on your iPod! Just choose "Send Audio
to Music" from the Routine menu, and FlexTime does the rest.
Q:
Can I use FlexTime to open applications or files in the Finder?
A:
Yes. FlexTime's "run script" cue action is actually a powerhouse of generic opening/running of items.
If the selected parameter is an application, it will launch or activate the application. If the parameter is a
file, it will open the file with the default application. Experiment and see how powerful "run script"
can be without writing a single line of code!
Q:
Can FlexTime run several cue actions simultaneously?
A:
"Not really" is the unfortunate answer here. However, there is a trick that may help you in a pinch.
By taking advantage of "0 length activities," you can arrange for
an arbitrary number of cue actions to take place "simultaneously" by inserting them before or after
another activity. For instance to have a sound and text display occur at the end of an activity, set the finish
cue to "Show Text," and add a 0-length activity after it with a starting cue of "Play Sound." For all
practical purposes the two will occur simultaneously. A future version of FlexTime will include
improved support for multiple simultaneous cues.
