Toolbar: Functions and Buttons
You are able to change your files with Informator. There are several menu commands (accessible through this button:

or through the contextual menu which opens with a Control-Click on a file or folder) and standard operations at your disposal.
Toolbar
You can adjust the toolbar to your own needs. Just Control-Click on a button and choose the function you want from the pop-up menu.
History
To jump from the shown files forward and back use the

and

buttons.

Open
A chosen document will be opened with its creator application.
Shortcut:

Show in finder
You can call this up with either the button

or with the menu command "Show in Finder".
Finder info 
Opens the Finder info window.
Chose an object
If there are several objects activated (multiselection), the "Chose object" menu

shows the number of objects and - with a click - the list of objects in the popup menu.
Object forward and back
If there are several objects activated, you can jump from one activated object to the other with the "forward" and "back" arrows

Labels 
Mark important files or folders with colors. Even in OS X, just the way you used to on OS 9.
Show original 
Shows the original that belongs to the selected alias.
(Shortcut:
r)
To show the original in the Finder press the option key while clicking, please.
Add to favorites 
Adds the selected file and folder to your favorites. Just like dragging it to the favorite list
Shortcut:

Move to Trash
Chosen objects can be moved to the Trash with the button

Delete
(only in the menu)
Deletes the file immediately

Press the option key to suppress the security dialog ("do you really want to

Delete preview
Big previews are saved within the PICT resource of a file. You can delete this special part of the file resourcefork with this function

Delete resource
Delete the whole file resourcefork

e.g. to save disc space.
Put away 
Ejects CDs and removables.

Search for similiar 
This function switches to the search view and fills in all fields with the parameters of the selected file.

Create thumbnails 
Create thumbnails (huge icons up to 128x128 px). This function does not generate a preview.

Create previews 
Create previews (up to 1024x1024 px) which are shown in the preview section.

Save text 
Save text changes you made in the preview section. Read on this:

Shellscripts
The shell script menu gives you the opportunity to execute scripts on the shell level of the system. This way you can use functions which are not available in other ways.
To use shell scripts as administrator press the option key while executing, please. A dialog will appear and you can enter your password. This way you can e.g. delete undeletable files.
To edit the scripts and add variables please read the "#Shell Scripts Read Me" within the Shell Scripts" folder within the Application folder.
Save your own shell scripts in the "Shell Script" folder to use them via the popup menü.
