Queen of Italy Card Layout: There's a Reserve pile at the top of the board and underneath that are eight foundations. Below the foundations are nine tableau piles and at the very bottom you'll find a stock pile and a waste pile. First, four cards are dealt to the tableau and you must select one. The card that you select becomes the base value of the foundation. That base card will then move to the first foundation, and then nine cards are dealt to the tableau piles, one card per pile. Eleven cards are dealt to the Reserve. To Win the Game: Move all base value cards to the foundations, then build upon those in ascending order (go up in value) and by suit - and wrapping the order as necessary. For example, if your base value is 7, the foundation will begin with 7, continue with 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and end with 6. To Play the Game: Build top cards in descending order (decreasing value) on the tableau piles and alternate suit color. Note: A King may be played on an Ace. If there is an empty pile, it may be filled by any value card that is available for play. The cards from the reserve may only be place onto the foundations, and not the tableau piles. Draw from the stock pile when necessary, which will go to the waste pile. Use the top card from the waste pile to play. You may use the stock pile only twice, however, during the second pass of the stock pile, you must use the card turned over before going on through the rest of the stock pile. |
