Simply click the names of the books that you want to read. They are divided into The Old and New Testaments.
If you are looking in a very long book and you want to find a phrase or word, try using the find function. On most computers, you hold the "Ctrl" key and press "F". Simply enter what you're seeking and click "Find Next".
The "Special Questions" link takes you to a list of frequently asked questions about the Bible. The questions on the top of the page are bookmark links, so if you click them, they will take you to the places below where the answers are given.
Your faith, knowledge and understanding will surely grow as you read these clarifications of the scriptures. There are nearly 4,000 explanations!
All of the links will be active. There are two navigation bars at the bottom of the page. The first one leads to the resources that accompany this software. The second navigation bar has links that lead to the internet. In order to use the second navigation bar, you'll need to be connected to the internet.
450+ Israel Pictures
Click the "450+ Israel Pictures" link or shortcut. The link looks like an
Israeli flag. After you do this, you will see the links page and you can click
on the name of the picture you wish to view. If you wish, you can also
click on individual pictures within the file folder.
These pictures were taken on my two trips to the Holy Land. If you wish to read about my experiences, please visit our web site. Link: http://www.jcsm.org.
The KJV Bible w/ the Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionary and Concordance
Click the link or shortcut called "The KJV Bible" and you can read God's
Word.
After you've opened the Bible, the navigation is quite easy. Simply find the book you want to read, then click the number of the chapter. Scroll down to the verse(s) you want to read. Consider using the "Find" function for long chapters.
Use the "Back" button on your browser and you will return to the previous page. You may want to open the Bible and the SAB: Corrected and Explained, so you can simultaneously read both.
The navigation bar on the top of the Bible will help you navigate through the different resources. The KJV Bible has "Strong's numbers" above the words and if you click on them, you will be taken to the Hebrew or Greek definition.
Easton's Bible Dictionary
Easton's Bible
Dictionary contains almost 4,000 Bible words with a complete explanation of its
Biblical meaning.
Easton's Bible Dictionary refers to the Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Third
Edition, by Matthew George Easton M.A., D.D. (1823-1894), published three years
after Easton's death in 1897 by Thomas Nelson.
Easton was a Scottish Presbyterian about whom little is written on the Web. Easton's Bible Dictionary contains an extensive set of entries used in the Bible, albeit from a 19th century Christian viewpoint.
Torrey's Bible Index
Reuben Archer Torrey (1856-1928) — was one of America's best-known evangelists and Bible teachers. He was educated at Yale and also at various German universities. During his early years he went through a time of extreme skepticism, but emerged as a staunch preacher of the faith.
In 1889, while in the pastorate, D. L. Moody invited him to become become the superintendent of his new school in Chicago (now the Moody Bible Institute.) He also served as pastor to the Chicago Avenue Church, now the Moody Church. He and Charles Alexander conducted evangelistic meetings together in many parts of the world. From the years 1912-1919, R.A. Torrey served as dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. He also served from 1914 as pastor of the Church of the Open Door. From 1924 to his death, he ministered in conferences and taught at the Moody Bible Institute.
Torrey's Bible Index contains hundreds of terms found in the Bible. It briefly explains them and gives the scripture reference where they are found. It is a huge Bible index and a valuable tool.
Nave's Topical Index
The Nave's Topical Index, the best known of all topical indexes, has been a valuable Bible-study reference and a best-seller for more than 75 years. It is a comprehensive digest of over 20,000 topics and subtopics with more than 100,000 associated Scripture references. The most significant references for each topic actually include the full text of the verse cited—saving the need to separately look up each verse. Because Nave's groups verses by "idea" (or "topic"), it offers a better overview of relevant Scriptures than a concordance, which only lists or indexes verses according to specific words.
This edition also includes the helpful Scripture
index (left out of some other editions), which makes it possible for the reader
studying a particular biblical text to locate every topic and grouping of
Scripture in Nave's whenever a particular verse is included. That way, it is
possible for the reader to study either all the verses related to a particular
topic or all the topics related to a particular verse—it works both ways. For
the pastor or teacher interested in saving hours of time but not willing to give
their second best, and for anyone wanting to be challenged by what God has to
say about a given subject, Nave's Topical Index is the passport that will allow
immediate and successful entry to the many points of interest.
Orville J. Nave, A.M., D.D., LL.D. (1841-1917), compiled this magnificent
reference work while serving as a Chaplain in the United States Army. He
referred to his work as "the result of fourteen years of delightful and untiring
study of the Word of God."
Matthew Henry's Commentary
Matthew Henry (1662-1714) was born in Shropshire, England and began reading the Bible at age three. He was preaching when he was twenty-four and didn't stop until his death. In 1704 he began collecting his voluminous notes on the Bible into a massive commentary that was well-received by his contemporaries and has served to bring generations of Christians closer to Christ.
Three hundred years of preachers and scholars have come to Matthew Henry's Commentary for inspiration and edification. Matthew Henry expresses his insights into scripture with simplicity, clarity, and devotion.
Palm Pilot
The Palm Pilot version of this e-book software is also included on this CD. It has been converted to a .pdb file with the isilo software. Therefore, you may need an isilo reader on your Palm Pilot before you can read the SAB: Corrected and Explained on your Palm. At any rate, you can copy the file called "SAB - Corrected and Explained" that is in the main folder directory into your Palm Pilot.
If you need the isilo reader, it can be freely downloaded from their web site. Here is their link: http://www.isilo.com/download/index.htm.
The Gospel Message - Audio
This is the biblical gospel of Jesus Christ in MP3 format. You may open it by
clicking on the link, at the bottom of the main page, and it will run with
any audio player. Winamp is a great, free, audio player and you can download it from www.winamp.com.
This Gospel Message is under 8 minutes long. It will lead you through
God's plan of salvation and redemption through Jesus Christ.
The Gospel Message - Text
This is an html, text file that will explain the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has
numerous scriptures that will illustrate the main points of Christianity and the
biblical gospel.
The Search Engine - (Optional)
If you want to use the search engine, you must install it. This search engine is optional, but it's a great, free program. It will work perfectly with "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained", and it will help you search for individual words. It isn't like the Windows search program that searches for file names. This search engine looks for words, in all of the files, of any directory you choose. You could even use it for the KJV Bible.
If you decide to install this search engine, then the "Search Engine" link will become active. Make sure you let the program install itself in the default folders. On the main page, there is a link called "Click here to install the search engine". Before you can use the search engine, you need to click that link and install it.
This will create a folder called "Tools" and a subfolder called "sr". It will be in the root C: directory (and must be in this directory in order to work with this software without modifications). After the installation, you simply have to double click the three dots to the right of the "Path:" field and locate the folder you wish to search (generally, either "SAB - Corrected and Explained" folder or "The KJV Bible" folder). If you let it point to the root folder and not the appropriate subfolder, then it will search everything - the Israel pictures, the Bible and the SAB: Corrected and Explained (I wouldn't recommend this, unless you have a particular reason for this kind of search).
Note: After installation, if you click the "Search Engine"
link and it asks you if you want to "Open", "Download" or "Save" the program, simply click
"Open". This is how the Search Engine tends to open. This
file is already on the CD, so you won't be downloading anything.
