Quitting an application

You can quit an application that Tiptoe is keeping private just as you normally would. Tiptoe detects that the application is closed and restores privacy. You can also use Tiptoe to quit any application that it knows about.

To quit an open application using Tiptoe:

Step 1

Select the application in the main Tiptoe window.

Step 2

Choose Application > Quit Application, or click Quit in the toolbar.

If the application was open privately the message "Application Privacy Restored" will appear briefly in the status bar at the bottom of the main tiptoe window.

If there are reasons that the application cannot close, the application will show its normal message asking how you want to continue.

Note: When you update an application, that process can involve quitting that application before re-openning it again. If the updating application has been opened with privacy: Tiptoe will restore privacy as the application is closing, but the application will open itself again without privacy.
