About application states

The Tiptoe main window allows you to select applications as well as view the current state of those applications. The state of each application is shown to the right of the application name.

The state can be:

State Meaning
Open Privacy The application is open with privacy. Privacy will be restored when the application is quit.
Open The application is open normally, without privacy.
The application is not open.

On Lion or later, a warning symbol Sandbox Warning can appear at the far-right of the application name. This shows that the application has been sandboxed by its creator to improve security. Sandboxed applications may prevent Tiptoe from providing full privacy.

Finding out more information on sandboxed applications:

Step 1

  Click the sandbox warning symbol Sandbox Warning to the right of the sandboxed application name

  In the Info Inspector window that appears, click More Information…
